Questions

I know Blogs are supposed to be my thoughts, but yesterday in our FV store, a customer and I were talking, and he was asking a lot of questions about the hobby and new products.   So, today, I thought I would just say, if you have questions, leave them as comments and I will do my best to answer them.  Have a great weekend

    1) There is a rumor that Global will not continue to carry the Equipage line of boats. Is this true? If not true, will Global be stocking the newest Equipage line of boats?

    2) Are there any different sizes of Thor engines in the works?

    3) Will Global start to carry the full line of Kyosho products? I see just a couple of planes but Kyosho has a whole mess of them. Not to mention their surface vehicles.

    4) What new ARF’s are on the horizon that you can tell us about?

    Tom,
Answering your questions in same order:
    1) At this time, we are not sure what the future holds for us and Equipage. I think they are absolutely gorgeous boats, but I am not sure they are right for us as they have not been the hit with our customers I thought they would be. So, at this time, we do not have plans to add the newer boats.
    2) Yes, we are working on new Thor engines. We have been working to improve some production and design of the 45 before going into production on a 26.
    3) We are testing a number of Kyosho items to determine demand. At this time, our customers have not told us whether to increase selection.
    4) New ARFS: Lots of them: search for vqmdl in the hobby people search, as well as BH Models. You will see new AT6s, P51s and more electrics. I am sure you have seen the Flit, which I think is really cool. I also really like the looks of the ASM Invader. And these are only in the next 4 months, we have many more that are close to production, and I will keep you informed once they pass their building and flying tests.
    Thanks.

    Another question for you Matt.

I notice on some items on the Hobby People website, they are listed with the words “Limited Stock”.

However, it seems like sometimes there are products which have been listed this way virtually the entire time it has been carried by Hobby People.

So my question, is what does the term “Limited Stock” truly mean in Hobby People vernacular?

    1) You are only keeping a couple of them on the shelf?

    2) You are phasing out the item?

    3) In-house special terminology?

    Thanks,
    -Tom

  4. Dale Maxim Says:

I have really enjoyd the crazy max airplane (owned 2 of them). Do you plan on selling something similiar?

  5. rcgeneral Says:

    Dale,
I agree, the Crazy Max was really a cool airplane. At this time, we don’t have anything in its same class, although you may like either the Rhythm or the Double Time as they both are airplanes which are receiving great word of mouth and are true performers. I will let you know if we have any new plans for more similar planes to the Crazy Max.

    Matt
